Simple date with my family.
I went to my mum’s office last Saturday afternoon to fetch her then we went straight to the Mall of Asia to watch the pyromusical fireworks displays of Finland and Portugal. We got there really early so we dated for quite some hours. Haha! It was nice to have some time with my mum — after all, I believe I owe her a lot of time because I have not been able to have some quality time with...

– My friend’s status in Facebook
My new hiding place.
My past few days were kind of dramatic and stressful in some ways. Some of my friends also notice that I am not my normal self (jolly and always happy) these days and they already know that a lot of things are bugging me. Sometimes, when they ask me if I am fine, I fail to respond because I am just staring at the air, questioning myself what really is happening to me.
I no longer want to disclose...

With what she said, I felt I won the lottery.
Last Friday night, we (news section of FEU Advocate) had our story conference for our March issue where we talked about which stories should be put in the next issue. During the story conference, Ate Abbey, my news editor, also evaluated Buts and me (the officers-in-charge of the January issue). She evaluated our performance and also our news editing skills during our terms as officers-in-charge....

How elections roll at FEU.
Last night, I was one of the many students who witnessed the announcement of FEU Commission on Elections (Comelec) and of the Office of Student Affairs of the newly elected candidates in yesterday’s elections.
FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO), which used to be dominated by the orange Sandigan Party Alliance for almost four years, turned red last night as all the posts (from president...

Tomorrow is election day!
Witnessing miting de avance earlier in school gave me a bird’s eye view of the entire election arena. My eyes saw and my ears heard clearly which candidates speak better regarding university issues, which candidates know better regarding external or community issues, and I witnessed which candidates have more confidence in speaking using the English language (okay, guys, I am sorry but this...

Challenging Advocate to be solid is like...
As what I mentioned in my previous posts, the election campaign period in school already started last Friday (Miting de Avance will be tomorrow while the election day will be on Friday) so the political parties Samasa and Sandigan are already battling both in school and in the internet.
It is my first time to witness the student politics life in school — not just in the eyes of a typical...

You know it is election campaign period when the...
The campaign period in school for the upcoming elections already started last Friday so the colors red and orange (the political colors of Samasa and Sandigan, the two clashing parties in the student body) are, once again, back on track.
Being a news writer in Advocate makes me realize how kind and amazing these candidates can be every election period. For one, they always greet me (and my fellow...

Saying that the Apple iPad 2 is powerful is like...
A part of our midterm examination in Advertising Strategy and Copy Writing was making a two-fold brochure for a product. We had to make our own copy (headline, tag line, and/or slogan) because that was what my professor wanted to see more.
I chose Apple iPad 2 primarily because Apple always uses minimalist and monochromatic designs — definitely my choices of style as well in advertising....
One downside of being at the courtside.
After my visit to Ateneo to watch a football and a baseball game last Sunday, I went straight to San Juan Arena in San Juan to watch a volleyball game with fellow Advocate staffers Lhea (sports writer), Meyor (photographer), Kuya Ram (chief photographer), and Don (business manager).
Because we were so-called “members of the press,” we sat at the courtside [for free] with other press...
One day in Freedom Park with Advocate people.
Yesterday, while some Advocate staffers were roaming around the university to conduct a survey for our March issue’s headline article, we all caught up with one another in Freedom Park at around 5:00PM, I guess. And because Patrick had his camera with him, then there, you already know what happened next. We did not conduct the survey anymore and had these group photos (or class...
"Papa, top one po ako!"
Sometime last week, I went to my sister’s school to get her class report card and also to talk with her adviser. My sister was having problems in school so she did not want my parents to go to school and talk to her adviser. So there, I went there instead.
While I was there, I saw some students in grades three and four who were looking so happy with their “top.” That is kind of...

My brother and his evil grin.
BRO: Bakit mo iniwan sa pantalon mo 'yung flash drive mo? Nalabhan tuloy.
JUJU: BAKIT NALABHAN 'YAN MSHF;CNMXBVDJKL NANDYAN 'YUNG GANITO GANYAN KO SHGFYWRHEKH!!!
BRO: Aba, ewan ko. Bakit mo ba kasi pinalaba? Marumi na ba 'yung flash drive mo? Marami na bang virus kaya pinalinis mo? *evil grin*
Juju at Ateneo.
I went to Ateneo de Manila University today because I was supposed to cover (or watch) the FEU-DLSU football game with fellow Advocate staffers Lhea (sports writer) and Meyor (photographer). However, they did not go to Ateneo anymore because of some emergency and I only found it out when I was in Katipunan already. I thought of going home already because I did not want to watch a football game...
Free merienda in a literature class.
Sometime last week, we held our literature class at FEU Freedom Park. That is something I like in my professor. He’s really cool who does not want to have classes in the classroom alone. He sometimes brings us outside and conducts classes in parks or anywhere with enough space so we tend to enjoy a supposed-to-be-boring class.
We had a game which was patterned with the reality TV show...
I apologize for looking "adik."
I had a scheduled interview last Monday with a University official so I went to his office five minutes before the scheduled time of the interview.
When I entered his office, he saw me then looked at my new haircut. He looked at me like I was a ghost or something freaky. And then he said, “Ano’ng nangyari sa’yo? Bakit mukha ka nang adik?”
Sometime this week, I will be...

Please stop commanding us to "like" or "repost"...
Talk to God, attend church services, do good and right deeds… Those ways are better to show your love and faith to Him. Liking and reposting posts that say “Repost if you love God…” only take some blinks of your eye but talking to Him or attending church services take pure heart and genuine faith to do.
Good evening, and stop sending me chain messages or tagging me in your...

It's that time of the year.
Okay, I notice I am getting a lot of messages and questions these days, asking me stuff about what schools they should go to or what degree programs they should take up. Aaaaah, this is that time of the year. Some people are also asking me about why I am now in my current university and other stuff.
I barely talk about my high school-college transition phase so allow me to talk about it even just...

100%.
I went to the faculty room in Arts Building to meet my Journalism professor because I received a group message from an unregistered number who was asking us to go to the faculty room to submit our editorial articles to Ma’am Socorro.
When I went there, I passed my editorial article and then she gave me back my feature article (Chinese traditions in the land of Juan dela Cruz) which I...

Press IDs.
The ID in the first photo was my official pass for yesterday’s event at FEU, the Concierto Piyu Otso Kwatro. Sadly, the organizers gave me an ID for an official photographer, haha! I think they ran out of official passes for writers so I had this instead. My fellow writer was also given an ID that says “MEDIA, The FEU Channel.” LOL. His was cooler because people who were given that pass were...

It's funny how a single mistake can already change...
Like for example, last week, I failed to submit an assignment to my Psychology professor so I got a low mark for it. After the class, she told me, “Nako! Sinayang mo ang positive na pagtingin ko sa’yo. Ang ganda-ganda pa naman ng impression ko sa’yo tapos sinayang mo lang!”
I was like, “Ma’am, gano’n na lang po ba ‘yon? Nang dahil lang wala akong...
Chinese Zodiac - Monkey. →
Because today is Chinese New Year, I thought of looking what a Monkey’s traits are over the nternet because I was born in year of the monkey (1992). Look, this can’t be any closer to whoever I am. I am a goddamned monkey! Hahaha!
Monkeys are fun and loving persons who are always cheerful and energetic. They are very clever. Give a monkey a boring book to read and he’ll turn it...

How are you?
Oh. That easy three-word question that is so hard to respond at. Ironic, right? Most people’s initial response after being asked this question is “Okay lang.” When I went to Pampanga yesterday, my friend asked me the question and I gave him the overrated response. And then when I visited my family relatives there, they also asked me the same question so I gave them the two-word...

Bad guys are around: Part One.
I know I am the worst story teller here but allow me to share two stories tonight (or I might post the other story tomorrow instead, haha!) about bad guys who do bad things to the good guys. Here goes my first one;
Last Monday, my professor shared a story to the class about an incident that happened to her last Saturday morning inside the campus grounds (take note, guys, it was just inside my...
